Launching Of I-Hop Sunday Buffet

Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur recently hosted more than 200 guests (include: Press Media, Food Bloggers, members from the various Chambers of Commerce, corporate partners etc) to the official launching of its first-of-its-kind international buffet lunch called I-HOP Sunday Buffet, which was launched by the German Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Dr. Guenter Georg Gruber and his wife, Christiane Gruber and the General Manager of Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Charles Marshall.

Every Sunday afternoon, the Main Lobby Level of Crowne Plaza Mutiara was turned into a haven for sumptuous food & beverage delights, allowing I-Hop Sunday Buffet to give guests the chance to dine in all 4 restaurants when they make a reservation in any of the restaurants. This extraordinary gastronomic journey starts from Club Bar serving the Best of Britain cuisines, then hop to Planters’ Inn for local authentic cuisines (Malay, Chinese & Indian), followed by Glass Lounge which offers an array of Seafood, Mediterranean & Japanese cuisines; and last but not least, savoring in Barbeque meat & seafood at our Poolside. Other entertainment include: kid’s buffet corner, clown appearance and live entertainment.

Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur recently celebrated an important milestone through its achievement of full Halal Certification by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). In order to meet the exact standards set, the culinary team together with senior management has put in 2 full efforts in attaining the required standards. ‘Donate Your Blood For A Reason, Let The Reason Be Life’ – this is the slogan by Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur which had recently initiated its 2nd blood donation campaign at the hotel in 2010, this was with the cooperation of National Blood Bank and in collaboration with corporate partner SAP Malaysia Bhd.

The bi-yearly campaign under the hotel’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program attracted more than 70 people from all walks of life and about by 3:00pm, the blood bank was full by 3pm. This year’s blood donation campaign had a record of an increase in the number of blood donors as well as repeat donors. Cik Azida (30 years old) from MMC Corporation Bhd, a 3rd time blood donor shares her experience, ‘I am blessed with great health and knowing that by donating my blood, I can save a life, it is a small deed’.

A special note of thanks to our corporate partner, SAP Malaysia, shown their support through encouraging employees to participate for this good cause and more than 10 employees including Consulting Director, Mr. Clinton Mottram participated in this event. Also, a note of appreciation is extended to all Crowne Plaza Mutiara’s staff and the members of the public.

Celebration - The Joy of Deepavali

In celebration of Deepavali, also known as Festival of Lights, staff of Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur created a kolam decorated with traditional Indian oil lamps at its hotel lobby to welcome guests.

Some 10 hotel staff together with hotel guests completed the motif made of colored rice grains in about 7 hours.

The Kolam was designed to create the Deepavali ambience, and the 8-foot 3D display was a real eye-catcher which adds on to the festive mood.

D' DAY - Love Pick Crowne Bridal Fair 24 October 2010

The highly anticipated bridal fair of the year had finally arrived. Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur ‘Love Pick Crowne Bridal Fair’ officially launches on Sunday, 24 October 2010. News have been spread since early August when Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur pledged to fold 1,000 origami cranes (a signature activity) which is to be given to a lucky couple as a wedding gift in 2011. The thousand origami cranes were showcased during the bridal fair.

This Japanese traditional art of origami is known as ‘Senbazuru', which symbolizes the labor of love which upholds the belief that when one thousand paper cranes were given as a wedding gift, the couples will be blessed by a thousand years of happiness and prosperity. To make it even more uniquely one-of-its-kind, these paper cranes were made with printed heart-shaped paper on one side and the other filled with blissful wedding wishes from the staff. Each paper measures 10cm by 10cm signify ‘Perfect 10’ or 100% which also means that their marriage is a match-made in heaven.

Bridal Fair and Wedding events are never going to be the same; at Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur, it is a magical experience; at the bridal fair, couples will received an exclusive door gift and thereafter, they will visit 6 destinations and to receive a piece of puzzle each time. Last but not least, live on stage, Miss Yvonne Yong; winner of 88db.com’s ‘Wedding Proposal Contest’ had officially accepted a wedding proposal from her ‘unaware’ fiancé Mr. Ernest Wee – their love for each other was undeniably steadfast, in her self-made video, Yvonne was thankful for Ernest’s love devotion; all of us present felt their love and were deeply touched by her bravery to be on the stage declaring her affections.
